Reviews for HICKORY'S SMOKEHOUSE - WILMSLOW, WILMSLOW

£17.50 burger.......My recent visit to Hickory's in Wilmslow left me with mixed feelings. Having previously enjoyed their fantastic sharing platter, I was excited to try something new and opted for the double chicken burger. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Priced at £17.50, the burger was a letdown in terms of portion size. As you can see from the photo I took, one of the burgers was barely larger than a chicken strip. While the flavor was decent, the lack of substance left me feeling disappointed. I hope Hickory's addresses this issue to ensure all their dishes live up to the high standard set by their sharing platter.

This is probably my 3rd hickory smokehouse location and we went here for my birthday. They took our food and drinks menu pretty quick and got served at reasonable time. I ordered the bbq ribs as this is probably the best food on the menu. It was a huge portion and it was great. The only bad thing was that we were seated at the corner/ back of the restaurant next to the kids room/ cinema which was very noisy (however was a Saturday night). Also on your birthday you get treated with a free doughnut which was nice!

After several recommendations we decided to visit for a birthday treat. We arrived late evening mid week (having pre-booked online) it wasn't too busy and plenty of parking. The staff were both attentive and supportive, especially when asked for recommendations. There was even free popcorn for the table on arrival! We went with the recommendations of our server and were not disappointed! The meat was so incredibly tender yet flavoursome and 4 cleared plates all round. I had mentioned at the bar when ordering drinks we had a birthday on our table and after the main course a little treat was delivered with full on sparkler which was a lovely surprising touch! There were lots of drink choices from cocktails, milkshakes etc and the desserts had something for everyone. Especially the camp fire! (See the photo!) I would happily recommend anyone to visit for a pleasant evening with great food and drink! Dietary restrictions: Brilliant with a dinner who has a severe allergy. Every course was reviewed in line with allergens and flagged in the kitchen.

Exceptional food, quality, service, just perfect in every way. Make sure you come hungry as the portions are huge. Was brought here for a birthday meal and they put extra little touches too - faultless restaurant and highly recommend

Love it here took my son and husband for a birthday treat. We have been before the good is always good and staff are amazing and work so hard. It was very busy being a Sunday but no waiting. I had a brisket sub with fries, coleslaw and a pot of gravy it was delicious. My husband and son shared the meat platter which they enjoyed. Parking: Lots of places to park, busy on Sunday but still had spaces Kid-friendliness: Children and babies Wheelchair accessibility: Wide doorways didn't really notice

Hickory's is always a pleasure to visit! Great service, food & atmosphere. Order anything from the menu and you can't go wrong. Proper authentic smokehouse experience that makes you feel like you're in the States.

Was really disappointed by the quality of food compared to what was expected. Had to try the platter to get a taste of their barbecue and everything on the plate was sup-par. Thought I would get the french toast to try & save it but this too was very disappointing. Menu is quite extensive but have already been put off returning. This one really had me questioning where these ratings are coming from.

I don't write many reviews but Hickory's is just outstanding.. The staff are amazing and friendly, we were a table of 8 and they were very patient with us. The food was fantastic, better than Reds true BBQ (when it used to be good, that is) I will definitely be going back, thanks for having our secret Santa party 🎅 🧑‍🎄 🤶

I had a fantastic experience at Hickory's! The food and drinks were outstanding, the ambiance was beautiful, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. My only suggestion would be to reconsider allowing dogs inside, as we had a chilly day and our food cooled down quickly. It would be great if they could create a small designated dog-friendly area indoors for those unpredictable weather cold and rainy days.

Went as party of six on a weekday night at 5:30 (so quite early) for daughter's birthday. This place has some great themed decor inside. The staff are amazingly polite and attentive and made loads of fuss of her for her birthday, which she loved! The food... Oh yes it is amazing. A carnivore's delight. I had the platter for one and the brisket and ribs just melted. The amount of food was just about right - I didn't have room for a pudding but that's no big deal for me. Others also really enjoyed their mains. Dessert was also great with my son having the waffles. The only niggle of the evening wasn't really the restaurant's fault and will make me sound a bit grumpy... I cannot stand it when parents just let their kids run riot in restaurants, no matter if they are family friendly. Because of when we ate, the place was full of kids who were constantly in and out of some doors to the outside that backed onto the bench that we sat at such that the doors were slamming into us pretty much every minute for first half hour or so. Luckily it calmed down and I don't think the kids really noticed this... Just my old-fashioned ways and, had it not been for this, would have awarded 5*. Would definitely come again but later on when the kids are in bed!
