Studied a one term primer course in Cantonese Autumn 2025. Thoroughly enjoyable and natural teaching method and easy to follow. Motivational, as we where speaking simple Mandarin from the very first lesson. Joined the course just out of curiosity and as a former student of some European languages I was pleased to find that the grammar was much, much, simpler. Many thanks, Brent Pilkington.

I did the ring making day with Mia. I loved the class and really enjoyed making (with a lot of help!) the ring. You were such an inspirational & engaging teacher, you made it so special. A fantastic day which I highly recommend to have a go, with Mia's guidance you'll come away with a very nice piece of jewellery.

Great life drawing day run by Sabine. As a beginner I felt really welcome, learned a lot and had a lot of fun.

Warm, friendly, welcoming environment. A community hub, run by professional, passionate and compassionate people. I have mostly experienced Iyengar yoga classes (for 20 years) at the Guild.

Barry, with his very strong base of knowledge, talked widely and enthusiastically about Arts & Crafts in the North West. There are so many beautiful artefacts right on our doorstep waiting to be discovered, and the network of artists and craftsmen was fascinating. Perhaps the 'best bit' has to be the admission and recognition of talented women from the start, unlike the Art Workers' Guild in London, with which I am familiar.

I thoroughly enjoy life drawing classes here every Monday night. The Guild is very well organised, and the sessions I attend are very high quality with an excellent tutor. I've barely scratched the surface, but I get the impression there's an awful lot going on - there seems to be something for everyone and the atmosphere around the building is very welcoming and positive. I'd highly recommend the Guild to anyone.

I've just finished a year of Beginners' Art with Anna, and I'm looking forward to next year's Beginners Year 2. I booked the course originally because I was hoping to learn a wide range of skills rather than simply be given pictures to copy (as happens in some classes). I wasn't disappointed. The classes have covered composition, sketching, colour, perspective, watercolour and acrylic techniques, the process of producing a painting, and more. I was a complete beginner when I started, but now I have the knowledge and confidence to start a painting from scratch and create a picture that make me happy. And the tasty lunches and cakes from the cafe are a welcome bonus!

Yet another fantastic course by Sheila! My daughter was new to Meditation and enjoyed learning about it and trying out several meditations. For me it was chance to have a lovely day focused on calm, reinforce the techniques I have learnt and practice meditation with others.
