The other week I noticed "floaters" and "flashing" in the ‘side’ vision of my left eye, and the sight was less clear than my right eye.
I decided to call my Optometrist, Graham at James Doyle in Wilmslow who advised me "come in without delay".
Reassuringly, full PPE was being worn & the practice fully Covid compliant.
My pupil was dilated with drops and Graham detected signs of a retinal detachment.
An emergency appointment was made that afternoon with an Ophthalmic Surgeon and a retinal detachment confirmed.
I had sight saving surgery at Manchester Eye hospital the same evening.
UKGov consider Optician practices as ‘Essential Services’
If you are concerned about vision changes Don’t Delay - contact your Optician!
Keep up with you eye-test appointments also; I hadn't done so!

Saved my life when I found myself in town desparately needed some replacement contact lenses and having difficulties getting a prescription out of another opticians! Incredibly friendly, helpful and professional and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Rare to see that level of customer service in the big chains and shows the clear benefits of a local company. Great to experience!

The service from Mr Doyle and team is first class. They take great care to check everything is OK in the eye test itself, then will spend time helping to choose the right pair of frames afterwards.
Everything feels leisurely and that they are working to make sure you get the glasses that suit you the most.
If you have a complex prescription / poor eyesight then definitely pay them a visit, they have a wide range of tests to make sure eyes are healthy and have a wide choice of compressed lenses.

I have been using Mr Doyle for about 3 years now. The attention to detail is excellent and although you may be paying a slight premium any issues and problems with your glasses are sorted out promptly and in most cases free of charge. The after-care service is second to none and you are valued as a customer.

I agree 100% with the earlier review. I have trusted my eyes to Mr Doyle for nearly two decades and would never trust anyone else in the same way. Highly skilled, professional and efficient, yet warm and welcoming too.
